Admission requirements

To be eligible for admission to the BS Tourism Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  1. High School students must pass the UP College Admissions Test (UPCAT). The institute admits a maximum of 100 1st year students every year.

  2. Shiftees (from other UP Diliman units)
  • Grade - Has earned at least 30 units with a curriculum weighted average (CWA) of 2.5 or better. Only those subjects included in the BS Tourism curriculum are taken into consideration when computing for the CWA.

  • Pass the interview

    Potential applicants should note that AIT takes only around 25-30 shiftees per year.

3. Transferees (from other UP units)

  • Grade - Has earned at least 30 units with a curriculum weighted average (CWA) of 2.5 or better. Only those subjects included in the BS Tourism curriculum are taken into consideration when computing for the CWA.

  • Pass the interview

    The institute accepts only 10 transferees from other UP units, with intake limited to the first (1st) semester.

  4. Transferees (from Non-UP schools)

  • Grade - Has earned at least 33 academic units with a general weighted average (GWA) of 1.75 or better. Computation of the GWA shall exclude vocational subjects.

  • Pass the interview
AIT admits 5-7 students from non-UP schools every first (1st) semester of the school year.

Screening Procedure:

The procedure for admission of shiftees and transferees involves three steps, as follows:
  1. Grades (GWA or CWA) are checked if they meet the standards.
  2. Applicants whose grades are satisfactory are given an appointment for an interview with the institute's Admissions and Scholarships Committee.
  3. All applicants are ranked according to the following criteria:
       Interview: 40%
       GWA/CWA: 60%
