Wakaba is a koto instructor, is the granddaughter of IMAI KEISYO. She started to learn koto playing at a very young age. She graduated from the Art College in Japan where she has studied professional instruction on piano and koto performance. She is an active member of the YAMADA RYU SOKYOKU ASSOCIATION and the JAPANESE CLASSICAL THREE MUSIC ASSOCIATION. She has performed many concerts, and also has taught many young high school students and foreigners.
