SUBJECT: Compliance with the Acceptable Use Policy for 
 IT Resources (AUP) for UP Diliman

The Acceptable Use Policy for IT Resources of the UP System (AUP)
 became acceptable February 1, 2003. Compliance with Section 5, A 
 of the AUP means that all unlicensed copyrighted software 
 applications be it the computer's operating system, office 
 productivity suite, graphic software or any other computer 
 application, are to be licensed. Otherwise, these unlicensed 
 software must be removed from the computers.

While it is not easy to comply with the policy, all colleges, 
 departments and offices are to provide information on how to 
 they are going to address the issue on unlicensed copyrighted 
 software installed on their computers, and when they expect to 
 be fully compliant with the policy.

Should assistance be required, the University Computer Center 
 can provide information on licensing and alternative, affordable 
 software applications.
