Subject: Suspension of the Grant of Clothing Allowance 
 in connection with Foreign Trips

Please be informed that the Office of the President of the Philippines 
 has issued Memorandum Circular No. 52  dated October 2, 2003 a copy
 of which is attached, suspending indefinitely the grant of clothing 
 allowance in connection with foreign trips.

Please disseminate this to your constituents for their information 
 and guidance

Memorandum Circular No. 52

Suspension of the Grant of Clothing Allowance in Connection with 
 Foreign Trips

In line with the continuing fiscal control program of the government, 
 this Office has for some time now been disallowing the grant of clothing 
 allowance in connection with foreign trips of government officials and 
 employees, regardless of their nature/purpose and duration, as well as 
 destination of traveling official.

For uniformity in the disposition of requests for this particular entitlement, 
 the aforesaid action of this Office shall be observed by all agencies as a 
 matter of policy until further advice. Accordingly, the grant of clothing 
 allowance connected with all categories of trips is deemed suspended indefinitely.
