Subject: Nomination for Professorial Chair Awards and Faculty Grant Awards

We are pleased to announce that we are ready to accept your nominations 
 for the UP Diliman and the UP System Professorial Chair Awards and Faculty 
 Grant Awards. Please see attached list of awards for your respective college.

Based on the BOR-approved guidelines, the criteria and eligibility for 
 the awards, should show outstanding achievement in the following:

1. Teaching. Mastery of the subject, conscientious in preparation for teaching, 
 explains well and clearly, earns respect of students on account of 
 intellectual superiority;

2. Intellectual productivity. Active in scholarship, publishes in academic 
 venues or, in visual and performing arts, exhibits or perform artistic work; 
 contributes to the body of knowledge;

3. Service to the University and the larger community. Participates in 
 University committees and activities, helps strengthen the institution, 
 engages in public service.

For nominations to the System Professorial Chair Awards and Faculty Grant Awards, 
 please attached to the nomination letter the nominee's curriculum, vitae detailing 
 the publications, teaching performance and extension service.

 Please submit your nominations to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic 
 Affairs (OVCAA) Deadline for nominations are as follows:
  For Awards effective January 2004- December 2004: May 15, 2004
  For Awards effective July 2004-June 2005: June 1 2004
  For System Chairs and Faculty Grants: May 15 2004
