ERR-04-059 To: All Deans, Directors, Head of Units, Faculty and Staff Subject:: Faculty and Staff on AWOL ---------------------------------------------------------------- To enable the administration to monitor employees on continuous leave of absence without approved leave (AWOL), you are directed to report to the Human Resources Development Office the names of employees who have been on AWOL for at least 15 days. The report must also contain the details on the accountability of the employee concerned and make further recommendations on the status of employment (for reprimand, cutting of salary, filing of charges, etc.) Please be reminded that CSC Memorandum Circular No. 12, series of 1994, amending Item 2 of Section IV of the Omnibus Guidelines on Appointments and Other Personnel Actions (MC No. 38, s. 1993- Dropped from the Rolls), provides: "2 Dropped from the Rolls 2.1. Absence without approved leave a. An officer or employee who is continuously absent without approved leave (AWOL) for at least thirty (30) working days shall be separated from the service or dropped from the rolls without prior notice. He shall, however, be informed of his separation from the service not later than five (5) days form its effectivity which shall be sent to the address appearing on his 201 files or to his last known address; b. If the number of unauthorized absences incurred is less that thirty (30) working days, a written Return-to-Work order shall be served on the official or employee at his last known address on record. Failure on his part to report for work within the period stated in the order shall be valid ground to drop him from the rolls."
