To: All Deans, Directors, Heads of Unit 

Subject: UPD Online Presence

Starting October, our community newspaper, Diliman UPdate, will
 be available weekly as an online publication. The move is meant 
 to provide the campus and the community at large with timely information 
 on the University's events and activities. It is also in keeping with 
 our cost-cutting measures.

Since the UPD Website will now be a major source of current news and 
 information on the University, I am enjoining everyone to contribute 
 to strengthening our internet presence. For starters, I am encouraging 
 units to regularly update their websites, or similarly, to move their 
 publications online. Units without webmasters or qualified manpower to 
 post information on their activities online may seek assistance from the 
 UPD Information Office.

The University has spent a sizeable amount to provide each unit with 
 internet connectivity. Let us therefore make the technology work for us.
