Subject:  UP Diliman Month

It is February once more. Time again to celebrate Diliman Month.

The Office for Initiative in Culture and the Arts (OICA) and 
 UP Diliman Information Office (UPD-IO) have teamed together 
 to encourage and oversee the Diliman campus-wide celebration of 
 culture this monh.

We have an auspicious opening on February 1 at the Quezon Hall Lobby. 
 We will have a photo exhibit of the highlights of the Chancellorship 
 of President Roman. The exhibit moves to the University Theater on 
 February 2 and runs until February 10. There will be a cocktail reception 
 at 6 p.m. Please join us then.

There are numerous other activities and a special calendar has been prepared 
 by the OICA/UPD-IO tandem for distribution.

This year's theme "Paglinang ng Tradisyon Tungo sa Kahusayan" is highlighted 
 by Diliman Month's featured artist, the Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (KONTRA-GAPI). 
 Its distinctive approach to its performances, which includes the audiences, as well 
 as its roots to our Southeast Asian Heritage, brings prestige to the University as 
 leader in cultural evolution.

Taken as a whole, the various activities - stageplays, concerts, exhibits, performances, 
 and so on - validates and exalts the diverse and evolving character of UP Diliman.

We truly have reason to celebrate.
