3.0 Correct, Clear, and Effective Sentences (3 weeks)

      3.1 Grammatical Sentences

      3.2 Rhetorical Sentences

 

4.0 Well-written Paragraphs (3 weeks)

      4.1 Paragraph Organization

      4.2 Paragraph Patterns

 

5.0 Well-constructed Themes (4 weeks)

      5.1 Pre-writing Strategies

      5.2 Traditional Forms of Discourse

                  5.2.1 Narration

                  5.2.2  Description

                  5.2.3  Exposition

                  5.2.4  Argumentation

 

5.3 Non-traditional Forms of Discourse (2 weeks)

      5.3.1 Autobiography/Biography

Requirements

 

As minimum requirements, students must:

 

1.0   write at least 2  non-traditional forms of discourses;

                    write at least 2 traditional forms of discourses;

        write paragraphs exemplifying all  the different paragraph patterns;

2.0 pass a final examination that tests mastery of the different skills in the course.
