Permanent substitutions (applicable only to certain degree programs) In the old G.E. program, there are permanent substitutions for Nat. Sc. I/2 and Math 1 with a set of courses in major fields of natural science curricula. These are applicable for a number of Bachelor of Science degree programs like Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics and a few more. Click here to view a listing of degree programs with permanent substitutions. If you are not in any of the degree programs listed, then you can skip this ruling. Substitutions will apply as follows:
As a result of these substitutions, there are some curricula which do not have 42 G.E. units in the old G.E. program. Examples:
Under the R.G.E.P., such substitutions are retained. Other substitutions will have to be approved by the University Council. Students of degree programs where such substitutions have been applied cannot enroll with credit the G.E. courses which have been substituted. Examples: The College of Engineering students cannot enroll for credit Math 1 to partly comply with the required G.E. units under the Math, Science and Technology domain because all the Engineering curricula already require Math 17 and Math 53. BS Chemistry students cannot enroll for credit Nat. Sc. 1 or Nat. Sc. 2 to partly comply with their G.E. units under the Math, Science and Technology domain. |
