Immigration Requirements for Newly Arrived International Students

New international students are requested to report to OSA upon their arrival to the University for proper advising to fulfill certain arrival obligations related to their legal stay.  Student visa    9(f) and Exchange Student visa 
47(a)(2)
holders follow slightly different procedures.  The OSA assigns a liaison staff to accompany and assist the students in going to the proper government agencies.  Students are requested to make an appointment with the Coordinator and prepare all the necessary requirements before the scheduled trip. 

Student Visa Holders 
under Section 9(f)

1.1  Medical Clearance from the Bureau of  
              Quarantine

        Requirements:
  
         1 ID picture (passport size - 2x2)
            Chest X-ray Film
       
  
     Fees:      P 150.00
       
Processing Period:  2 hours

1.2  Registration at the Commission of 
          Immigration and Deportation for
  
   the   issuance of the Alien Certificate of 
     Registration (ACR)
and the
  
   Certificate of Residence for Temporary 
    (CRTS)

   Requirements:
        Passport
        12 copies ID photo  (passport size - 2"x2")

Exchange Students  Visa Holders/Applicants 
under Section 47(a)(2)

2.1.      47(a)(2) Application (Department of Justice)

The OSA prepares the necessary endorsement after the exchange student/fellow submits the following requirements:

  • Passport

  • Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) of Exchange Program and/or Scholarship Agreement

  • Appointment as official exchange fellow or scholar

  • Acceptance signed by the subject foreign national

  • Affidavit of Support and Bank Certificate

  • Marriage contract (for dependent spouse) and or Birth Certificates for dependent children

  • Extension of scholarship (additional requirement for visa extension)

2.2      Visa Stamping - Commission on
