CHE conducts lecture of Filipino migrant workers


In celebration of the 86th anniversary of the founding of home economics as a discipline, the College of Home Economics (CHE) is holding a lecture entitled Narratives of Families Left Behind. The event is on November 21, Wednesday, 1 p.m. at the CHE Tea Room.

The lecture focuses on issues affecting families of Filipino migrant workers. Guest speakers for this lecture are Dr. Nanette Dungo and Asst. Prof. Clarissa Reyes. Dungo is presenting her research on The Filipino Family Caught in the “Gains and Pains” of Labor Migration. Reyes, on the other hand, is presenting “Inang OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers)”—aletter analysis. Also speaking to share their personal views and experiences are two OFW dependents and an OFW wife and mother.

The lecture is part of CHE Lecture Series on the Filipino Family is open to everyone.
