The University has done it again, rising to the occasion with the spectacular performance of this year's takers of the Interior Design Licensure Exam.
Graduates from the Department of Clothing, Textiles and Interior Design (DCTID) of the UP Diliman College of Home Economics passed the exams with a staggering 89% with 24 passers out of the 27 takers. It also earned the university the top honors for having the highest percentage of Interior Design board passers.
These numbers are a dramatic rise from last year, where only 44 percent of the graduates passed the exam, which was held last October 3, 4 and 5. According to DCTID chair Dr. Adelaida Mayo all their efforts during the past year to improve the university's standing have paid off spectacularly.
"Although we have always aimed for a 100 percent passing of the Interior Design Licensure Examination among our graduates, the board exam involves actual design conceptualizations which are subjective in nature...Efforts have been made this year to resolve this problem through regular consultations among the members of the Council of Interior Design Educators and the Professional Regulation Commission Board of Interior Design."
Among those who passed are Maria Emmanuel Nicola Lofranco Berbano and Patrese Naida Jose Esguerra, who garnered 2nd and 6th place, respectively.
