Six graduates of the School of Library and Information Studies (SLIS) garnered 5 out of 10 top places in the recently concluded librarians' licensure examination given on November 26-27. Two shared the 10th slot. The top 10 placers are: Reyna M. Parman, 1st place, Jeffrey Y. Meraña (2nd ); Anna Liza G. Orocay (3rd ); Joan B. Dadang (6th ) and sharing the 10th place were Katrina R. Romero and Fairlyn Haduca-Sarga.
SLIS got a passing rate of 98% (47 were first timers), thereby retaining its reputation as the prime library school in the Philippines.
The new librarians will be sworn in on January 7, 2008 at the Manila Hotel.
