STATEMENT ON THE UP VINZONS HALL INCIDENT The UP Administration is profoundly affected and deeply saddened by the incident that happened at the University Student Council (USC) office at the UP Vinzons Hall (VH) that resulted in grave injuries to Ms. Lordei Camille Hina, a 4th year AB Political Science student and an active volunteer of the USC. (January 5)—Why is the Lantern Parade considered the most anticipated Christmas event in UPD? Because the annual celebration, like the 2011 Lantern Parade held on December 16, turned out to be eventful, packed with loads of surprises including not only a parade of colorful floats and lanterns but also of irony and tragedy. (December 6)—Even the slight drizzle that amplified the chilly evening air did not stop Christmas celebrations in UPD as the Pag-iilaw, the traditional ceremony where the decorations of all the major buildings such as Quezon Hall are lit up for the first time, went underway last December 5.
