Concerts

concertHimig-sikan sa Lagun—An afternoon concert every Sunday at the UP Lagoon area sponsored by OICA, showcasing homegrown campus-based artists, featuring the following: Saxoforo Band on February 5, Kontra-Gapi on February 12, MAJAM on February 19 and Entwined on February 26, 4 p.m.
University Lagoon. Free admission.

No FAIRmit, No Rally— One of the students’ most awaited events, the UP Fair is a week-long music feast packed with concerts, shows, fair booths, bazaars and a lot other gimmicks sponsored by different UPD organizations, as organized by the University Student Council (USC). The first night will feature performers who have campaigned against political repression, sponsored by the Tau Alpha Fraternity. The other events are:

Love is in the Fair: A concert of UP-based and popular artists sponsored by UP Gagayyem on February 14.

Pop Fiesta: Featuring artists from different genres, sponsored by the UP Alpha Sigma Fraternity on February 15.

SISFIRE 4: Rebuilding Lives, Rebuilding the Nation: A night of reggae, alternative rock, R&B and pop featuring top-billed and multi-awarded artists sponsored by the UP Sigma Beta Sorority on February 16.

SchizoFAIRnia II: A bigger, better and bolder concert featuring performers from the mainstream rock genre, covering pop rock and alternative rock, sponsored by the EMC2 Fraternity and the Circle of Entrepreneurs on February 17.

Calibrated Pinoy Rock: The culminating night for this year’s Fair will feature both UPD-based and popular artists, as sponsored by the University Student Council on February 18.

All concerts are at 6 p.m. at the Sunken Garden. Tickets are available at the venue and with the sponsoring organizations, or call the USC at 981-8500 local 4521.
