Business Research Foundation

The U.P. Business Research Foundation, Inc. (UPBRF) is a non-stock, non-profit corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on October 29, 1971, for the purpose of undertaking, encouraging, and assisting research in the business and management sciences towards a more effective operations of industrial, agricultural, commercial and government enterprises.

The Foundation was established at the initiative of the alumni of the U.P. College of Business Administration, with the following as incorporators: Fanny Cortes-Garcia, Jaime C. Laya, Pio P. Pedrosa, Juan D. Quintos, Don Anselmo Trinidad, Sr. and Cesar E. A. Virata.

The UPBRF is responsible for the establishment of Professorial Chairs. Professorial chairs and faculty grants help advance education and research by providing supplemental resources to faculty members in their teaching and research endeavors. A chair may be established with an endowment fund to be managed by the Foundation. The income from the fund shall provide financial support to a deserving faculty member of the U.P. College of Business Administration. Professorial Chairs maybe named in honor of illustrious alumni or prominent representatives of private business and public management sectors. The chairs may also carry the name of the company sponsor.

In line with the centennial year celebration of the University of the Philippines, Centennial Professorial Chairs have been established.  A Centennial Professorial Chair is immediately established with a single donation of at least P1,500,000.
