CSWCD aces 2019 licensure exam

(SEPT. 3) ̶ All 20 examinees of the UP College of Social Work and Community Development (CSWCD) passed the August 2019 Board Licensure Examination for Social Work (BLESW), making it the top performing school besting 123 schools.

CSWCD alumna Christine Marie V. Dela Cruz notched the 4th place with a grade of 82.40 percent.

The top performing school recognition was given to schools “with 10 or more examinees and with at least 85 percent passing percentage,” according to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) website.

This year, 2,723 of the 5,880 examinees passed the BLESW with a national passing rate of 46.31 percent, slightly lower than last year’s 49.96 percent passing rate.

CSWCD had a 100 percent passing rate of BLESW since 2009, according to available PRC data, with an average number of 13 examinees per year. There was no BLESW in 2016 due to lack of quorum in the PRC Board of Social Workers.

The August 2019 BLESW was administered last Aug. 21 to 23 at the cities of Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Manila, Pagadian, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
