SYNOPSIS
Sesang slowly descends from the stairs. Her admirers are mesmerized by her youth and beauty, anxious to get the love and approval of the elusive coquette. Everyone is there for Sesang's birthday: her patron Don Ramon, her suitors Noris and Soter, the poet Pepe and a collection of other men each proclaiming their undying passion. Sesang plays along, laughs and dances, assuming her role as the momentary muse. Amidst the glory of her adoring crowd, Sesang feels alone. She secretly searches for that one man who will offer her love, acceptance and redemption.

Jacinto enters the celebration. He is a young man fresh from the province, brimming with curiousity and excitement for the life in the city. As he searches for Pilar - his fiance and seamtress to Sesang, he sees the hostess and is amazed by her enchanting beauty.
From afar, Sesang sees Jacinto. She knows he is different. His silence speaks more than the tired old lines, his purity standing out from the rest of the men. Sesang goes to Jacinto and asks him to dance. Dancing leads to talking, the night slowly turns to early morn. Taken by Jacinto's innocence and idealism, Sesang decides to be with him, hoping that she will be redeemed. However, Sesang acquires Jacinto through the only way she knows: through flattery, money, manipulation, and her beauty.
Soon hearts and lives are broken: Pilar is left alone, Pepe is consumed with jealousy, Don Ramon enraged. Sesang is oblivious and continues to convince Jacinton. Unknowingly, Sesang changes him from a man with convictions to someone irredeemabel - someone just like her. Lost and alone, Jacinto agrees to live with Sesang. Overjoyed, she decides to give up everything and lead new life with Jacinto. However truths are revealed, lies and deceits exposed. Sesang is exposed and faces the consequences of her blind search for salvation.
In the mad chase of the characters against loneliness, they have trampled each others dreams to escape their own emptiness and sadness. In vain, they search for that other person who shall make them whole. However, in the end, they must face reality, confront themselves ad know the true reason why they are alone.
