The Electric Power Research Laboratory is dedicated to research aimed at providing a safe, reliable and optimum generation, distribution, conversion, measurement and control of electric energy. Work in Laboratory consist of laboratory experiment, testing, computer simulation of electric power apparatus, equipment, structures, materials and systems. The laboratory is equipped with a Terco power Simulator, Electric electromechanical relays, a Multi-Amp relay testing set, a power measurement PC-based mini-SCADA system, power monitors and power command controller, and Omron Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). For the simulation of electromagnetic and electromechanical transients, the laboratory has the Siemens Network Torsion and Machine Control (NETOMAC) software and the ETAP Power Station software. The laboratory`s current research thrust in the area of electrical machines is centered on the optimal utilization of the control and real-time digital controllers. In the area of power systems, the laboratory` s current thrusts are in dynamics and control, harmonics and power quality, protection, reactive power and voltage control, and optimal operations .:contact:. |
