Meet UP ISSI's development partner!

The Small Enterprises Research & Development Foundation (SERDEF) is a non-stock, non-profit foundation dedicated to assist the promotion and development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the country.  Its membership represents a broad spectrum of Filipino leadership in business and industry, education, finance, lawm government and socio-economic affairs.

In pursuing its activities, SERDEF works closely with various organizations in both the private and public sectors, including the academe.  Its closest collaboration is with the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) from which it draws much of its technical expertise in implementing SME development programs at the field level.

The SERDEF shares the UP ISSI's vision of improving the quality of life of the Filipino people by promoting
job-creating, income-earning small and medium-scale entrepreneurship through:  advocacy, training, research and consultancy services.

Its mission is to play a proactive role in creating new and improving existing SMEs to prepare them to meet the new challenges, such as that of the one-world, one- market economy.
