Mr. Tan is the choirmaster of the Novo Concertante Manila , University of Asia and the Pacific Chorale, and the Cultural Center of the Philippines Chorale. He is a former member of the Philippine Madrigal Singers. He teaches Western Music History at the U.P. College of Music.
