Baritone Rainier Arthur Cruz began to teach immediately after graduating from the UP College of Music. He possesses a brilliant bass-baritone voice which will remind you of foreign opera legends you hear on recordings. He studied voice under Professor Ma. Cecilia Valeña and Miss Nanette Moscardon-Maigue. He has performed in several opera productions such as Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Caldwell's Night of the Star, Barab's Game of Chance, excerpts from Mozart's Don Giovanni, Le nozze di Figaro, Magic Flute, Donizetti's Le fille du Regiment, Rossini's La Cenerentola, L'italiana in Algeri, il barbiere di Siviglia, Verdi's Don Carlos and Attila. As a teacher, he loves to impart the joy and knowledge of singing to his students.
