Soprano Ma. Cecilia Valena holds Bachelor's degrees in Voice and Choral Conducting;
and a Master's degree in Voice from the University of the Philippines; and has
undertaken continued music studies at the Indiana University in the USA.
She teachers Voice and is the Program Coordinator of the Music Extension Program
at the College of Music, where she has also served as Officer-in-Charge, College Secretary,
and Chair of the Music Research Department and Scholarship Committee.
She has been a soloist in various recital and concert productions and has toured the
USA and Canada as soloist and member of the Choral Ensemble Philippines.
As a teacher she counts among her students some of the most accomplished singers
in the country, several of whom have won national competitions and been awarded
scholarships to schools in the USA, the UK, Hong-Kong, Japan and Italy.
