DEGREE PROGRAMS

Undergraduate degree programs consist of a General Education component and a Major Studies
component. The latter component is comprised of specialized courses in Music Performance (Solo, Music Theater, Ensemble and Choral), Foreign Languages, Music Fundamentals, Music History & Literature and Conducting.


DIPLOMA IN THE CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS (DCPMA)

This degree is a four-year (eight-semester) program which does not require the passing of the
University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT), but requires the successful
completion of both a Music Theory Entrance Examination and a Voice Audition. It is comprised of
nine (9) units of General Education courses, three (3) units of Philippine Institutions and 138 units of Music Studies which include two (2) recital requirements and nine (9) units of Theater and Dance courses.

Students may choose to undertake either a Performance Track which emphasizes Vocal Performance; or a Pedagogy Track which emphasizes the teaching of Voice.


BACHELOR OF MUSIC (BM)


This degree is a five-year (ten-semester) program which requires the passing of the UPCAT as well
as the successful completion of both a Music Theory Entrance Examination and a Voice Audition. It is comprised of 45 units of General Education courses, three (3) units of Philippine Institutions,
12 units of foreign languages, 129 units of Music Studies (including four (4) recital requirements)
and six (6) units of non-music course electives.

Students are trained extensively in both Performance and Pedagogy knowledges and skills.


MASTER OF MUSIC (MM)

This degree requires a minimum of two years (four semesters) of full-time study and provides both a more expansive and intensive education in the Vocal and Musical Arts. It is comprised of 42 master's level course units comprised of 30 units of Musica Studies, six units of languages and six units of course electives.
