Dear Incoming Freshman,

Congratulations! You made it to the national university, the premier university in the country, and you are now about to begin your college education. Welcome to the University of the Philippines Diliman and to a most exciting and significant chapter of your life.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (OVCSA) will assist you throughout your life in the University. The various units under the OVCSA cover all the concerns that are relevant to your college life: scholarships, dormitories, counseling, mentoring, food and health services, opportunities for part-time work, student organizations and a range of campus activities. These units are the Office of Counseling and Guidance (OCG), the Office of Student Housing (OSH), the Office of Scholarships and Student Services (OSSS), the Office of Student Activities (OSA), the Student Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT), the University Health Service (UHS), the Diliman Learning Resource Center (DLRC), the UP-DOST Core Group and the University Food Service (UFS).

On the succeeding pages are information and forms that are designed to guide you in your entry to UP. You are strongly encouraged to confirm your enrolment online. When you do, you will find a link to the OVCSA website where you will be able to access the same information and download the same forms.

You are required to attend the Freshman Orientation Program (FOP) on the day designated for your group. The advanced registration period for freshmen will be held from 4-8 May 2009 while the FOP is scheduled from 5-9 May 2009 at the School of Economics Auditorium (Diosdado Macapagal Hall), with the following time schedule:

        5-8 May 2009 12:00 noon - 5:00 p.m.
        9 May 2009 7:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon

You should attend the FOP on the day after your scheduled advanced registration. For example, if you are registering on 4 May, you should attend the FOP on 5 May. Your College will hold another freshman orientation. Watch out for the announcement of its schedule.

If you need help or more information, visit, write, call, or email us, or log on to the UP Diliman website http://www.upd.edu.ph and the UP Diliman OVCSA website http://www.upd.edu.ph/~ovcsa
