SPATIAL PLANNING FOR REGIONS IN GROWING ECONOMIES
(SPRING Program)

SPRING, an acronym for Spatial Planning for Regions in Growing Economies, is a graduate program in regional and district development planning and management, jointly offered by the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning and the University of Dortmund in Germany. The two-year Masters program which has courses held both in Germany and in the Philippines is the SPRING (Asia) program.

Sponsored by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, SPRING has the objective of improving the training of planners, managers, and administrators in developing countries and of supporting the development of education and research capacities in rural-regional district development planning. The entire program is conducted in the English language, but students should learn German and Filipino (Tagalog) to facilitate living in Germany and the Philippines.

Target Groups
The SPRING (Asia) Program caters to planners with a four-year Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent), and minimum of two years experience in a related planning field, together with a strong commitment to further work in regional development planning.
