The University of the Philippines School of Urban and Regional
Planning (UP SURP) joins the nation in celebrating the Sixth
Development Policy Research Month (DPRM). This year's theme:
"Managing the Development Impact of International
Migration" highlights (1) the significant role that
international migration has played in the lives of Filipinos and (2)
"...the need to link the study of international migration to the
country's development process and integrate it into the overall
development program of the government".
The month of September is celebrated as
Development
Policy Research Month by virtue of
Malacaņang
Proclamation 247 issued on September 2, 2002. The annual
celebration aims to promote and draw "nationwide
awareness on the importance of policy research in national
development". The
