Welcome Remarks delivered during the
UP PLANADES
Fellowship Night
We are sponsoring
this get-together as a way of thanking all of you – our members,
partners, and supporters – for helping PLANADES rise above water.
We sincerely hope
to sustain our good financial standing by acquiring more projects next
year. This way, the Foundation can continuously support the School in
upgrading its facilities and equipment and in contributing more funds
for staff development.
For the year
2007, PLANADES contributed a total of P317,000 to the school’s block
grant; and, as of September 2008, it has already granted the School
the amount of P473,000.
I would like to
thank Dr. Dave Yap for successfully getting the Tarlac, Mati City and
Lanang projects; Dr. Ted Santos for the NAMRIA project; Drs. Ben
Cariño and Art Corpuz for the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA)
project; Dr. Dix Bravo for the DA project on R&D management and the
Siquijor PPFP project; Dr. Crispin Diaz for the NLEX project; Dr.
Mario de los Reyes for the Tagbilaran Urban Environment Services
project; Dr. Dayo Montalbo for the Batangas project; Ms. Liza Marie
Elum for the ELA project; Dr. Renzie Padernal for the Area 19 Quezon
City project; Dr. Primitivo Cal, who brought in three projects: the
Mega Manila project, the SLEX impact assessment project, and the
Xavier School Traffic Management project; and Prof. Ernesto Serote for
the half-dozen training projects he directed under the UP PLANADES.
Through these
projects, the UP PLANADES
“gives back” to its partners, organizations, communities, and the
country, and shows its commitment to developing well-planned
environments.
With your
constant support, we look forward to a better 2009 despite the
supposed global financial crisis.
Thank you and
good evening.
Dr. CANDIDO A. CABRIDO, JR.
President
UP PLANADES
