LGU Networking for
Sustainable Land Use Planning and Development: A Pilot Study for
Selected Cities and Municipalities of Bulacan
November 2008-July 2009
Sponsored by:
Department of Science and Technology
The Project will develop a virtual
information network program on urban, regional, rural and
environmental planning concerns between the academe and local
government units (LGU), national government agencies (NGA), various
non-government organizations (NGO), and peoples’ organizations (PO).
The information network will serve as a feedback mechanism whereby
real occurrences regarding planning at the local government level may
be cross-referenced with models and procedures developed by the SURP.
The feedback mechanism may serve as an avenue whereby planning models
and procedures can be formulated to better address actual occurrences
in a planning area. The SURP shall serve as the information hub where
information may be deposited, documented, addressed, and disseminated.
Publications
RESTORATION OF HISTORIC INTRAMUROS

Author: EnP. Asteya M. Santiago, PhD
Price: P380.00
The book is a 13-year (1979-1992) case study of the implementation process of the 1980 Intramuros Development Plan which guided the ‘orderly restoration and development of Intramuros as a monument to the Hispanic period of Philippine history' (PD 1616: 1979). The case study covers two radically different political and legal systems: the martial law period (1979-1986) and the so-called period of ‘Restored Democracy' from 1986 to 1992.”
Co-published by the School of Urban and Regional Planning and the UP Planning and Development Research Foundation, Inc.
PROPERTY, PATRIMONY AND TERRITORY: FOUNDATIONS OF LAND USE PLANNING IN THE PHILIPPINES

Author: Prof. Ernesto M. Serote
Price: P450.00
This is probably the first book ever written on land use planning in the Philippines (this is not a Guidebook), and thus, has to cover a lot of ground. It is comprehensive, covering planning at various levels of government, by different agencies involved, and for various configurations of land and different territories and property domains. The author also uses what has traditionally been meant by the term”.
THE LANGUAGE OF ENVIRONMENTAL PLANNING IN THE PHILIPPINES

Authors: Prof. Dolores A. Endriga, EnP. Liza Marie Pulumbarit-Elum, EnP. Henry L. Yap, Ms. Delia R. Alcalde
Price: P400.00
The book “…serves two purposes: to provide the definitions of planning terms and to list the references for planning sectors. The definitions were compiled primarily from public documents such as laws, implementing rules and regulations, executive orders, letters of instructions, guidelines, memorandum circulars, etc. Each definition is provided with a code that corresponds to a specific reference, classified under different headings to facilitate the identification of basic references for each planning sector/sub-sector.”
