UPD is top school, dominates top 10 in Metallurgical Eng’g licensure exams

(August 15)— All 17 UP Diliman graduates who took the Metallurgical Engineer (MetE) Licensure Examination held from August 10 to 12 in Manila and Davao City passed, giving UPD a 100 percent passing rate. 

The board passers are MetE graduates from the College of Engineering.

UPD also swept the top 10 ranks for the MetE licensure exam. Top honors went to Jerome Francisco Corpuz, who garnered a score of 84.15 percent, while Maria Marecris Udtohan bagged the second place with 83.90 percent.

They are followed by Jerome Sardea Musa (3rd place with 82.45%), Chaitanya Sy Caraga (4th, 82.20%), Edwin Roven Tamayo Cañezal (5th, 82.10%), Jan Lowell Porillo Buquiz (6th, 81.75%), Waynah Lou Verdin Dacayan (7th, 81.60%), Michael Angelo Oriendo Verdijo (8th, 81.55%), Christian De Jesus Concepcion (9th, 81.40%) and Joy Marisol Flores (10th, 81.20%).

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that only 25 out of 42 passed the 3-day licensure exams given by the Board of Metallurgical Engineering.

The PRC also announced that registration for the issuance of the professional identification card and certificate of registration will be from August 19 to August 29. Oathtaking of the successful examinees will be held on August 31, 5 p.m. at Gabaldon Room, Club Filipino, Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila or on September 7, 3 p.m. at Cheradel Suites, Iligan City.
