(June 11)— Applications for UP car/motorcycle stickers authorizing vehicles access to UP Diliman will be entertained by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs (OVCCA) starting June 15 from 8 a.m. to 12 nn.
UP personnel and students who choose not to get car stickers shall be allowed access through the University portals/gates upon presentation of UP identification cards (ID). Meanwhile, full time faculty and staff will be given complimentary stickers subject to processing according to the OVCCA.
Those who could not present UP IDs and car stickers will be required to pass through the University Avenue portal. They are also required to leave behind their driver’s license or current ID card with picture with the guard upon entry and recover their surrendered driver’s license or ID card in the same gate upon exit.
Prof. Melania L. Flores, vice chancellor for community affairs, also announced that before the end of the first semester AY 2012-2013, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Reader system is expected to be set up in the University portals.
In addition, the University will strengthen its anti-noise pollution campaign against vehicles and motorcycles without silencers. This is accordance with the MMDA Regulation No. 03-005 dated May 22, 2003 and the Quezon City Ordinance No. SP 1227, s. 2003.
