UPD grad tops Environmental Planning exams

(June 14)— Jennifer Carisma Malinao, a graduate of the Master of Science in Regional Development Planning  from the UP School of Urban and Regional Planning (UP SURP), topped the June 2013 Licensure Examinations for Environmental Planners (EP) with a score of 83.75 percent.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC), only 71 passed said exams, 24 of whom were from UP Diliman. One hundred thirty-eight took the exams representing 48 schools. 

Of the 24 board passers, 22 were SURP graduates namely:  Rodney Jay Esquivias Asinas, Lotus Manzanero Ayala, Raymond Apollo Organo Buenavista,Roland Dane Zapanta Carreon, Carl Francis Tubale Castro, Utopia Gongora Cuyugan, Arce Panganiban Fajardo, Peter Daniel Gonzales Fraginal, David Jonathan Cruz Garcia, Rolyn Mae Tomarong Gatus, Michelliza Marciano Guerrero, Candy Lachica Hidalgo, Dazzle Rocha Labapis, Manuel Terencio Morales Jr., Essie Francia Gapas Oliver, Roja Victoria Galuno Orozco, Gerald Vallo Paragas, Harry Sevilla Pasimio Jr., Leslie Anne Dayao Robles and Grace Penaflor Sapuay.

The Master of Science in Regional Development Planning is a degree offered through the SPRING-Asia program, a 2-year program for Asian students jointly offered by Technische Universität Dortmund (TU Dortmund) and the UP SURP.  Students spend the first half at Dortmund while the second half is conducted at SURP.

The remaining two, Geolette Marie Yu Esguerra and Armin Brugada Sarthou Jr., are graduates of the College of Architecture.

The PRC also announced that the issuance of ID as well as the Certificate of Registration for the successful examinees will be on June 25. The date and venue for the oathtaking ceremony will be announced later. —H.C.P.
