The office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration (OVCA) held the 2-day workshop “Re-orientation on Financial, Procurement and Personnel Matters” from March 27 to 28 at the National Institute of Physics Auditorium.
The activity drew over a hundred participants, comprised mostly of administrative officers (AO), acting AOs, deans, directors and other UPD personnel. According to the organizers, the activity sought to “re-orient the participants on existing office functions and procedures of the various offices under the OVCA in the context of University thrusts and mission and existing laws and government rules and regulations” to “improve administrative efficiency in the administration of support services to academic and other administrative units.”
These units were the Human Resources Development Office (HRDO), the Supply and Property Management Office (SPMO), and the Diliman offices for Accounting (DAO), Budget (DBO) and Cash (DCO).
Among the speakers were Vice Chancellor for Administration Virginia C. Yap, HRDO director Dr. Angela D. Escoto, Acting SPMO director Prof. Dan Saguil, Acting DAO director Celeste Mamaril, Acting DBO Director Arsenio Pagador and Acting DCO Director Leonila Balasbas.
Setting the tone and inspiration for the workshop was UPD Chancellor Caesar A. Saloma.
